Pumpkins and A New Grandbaby
Monday back at work should start with "coffee talk."
We had a fun weekend here. We bought pumpkins, and neighbors gave us even more homegrown pumpkins. While we decorated, we celebrated surviving the "Bomb Cyclone" here in the PNW. Then we went to a friend's party by their private creek (that's just crazy, right?) and had all you can eat fresh crabs again. There were so many crabs that we had to take some home. We did some goofy dancing and singing with the host, dressed up as a crab, and had a "Crab Whisperer" shirt. He goes crabbing every other day! Yesterday, my friend and I were assigned costume judging duties at the Elks Lodge. (I can now add that to my awesome resume, hee hee! I don't know how they decided that the kitchen helpers are qualified to be judges. We just work in the kitchen and serve junk food to the bingo players.) That was so much fun. The contestants were very creative.
But the greatest joy over the weekend is that the Wong elders (yup, that's me, my two sisters, and brother) welcome our newest grandbaby. The 11th baby. Kaia Alicen Wong, 7 lbs 6 oz. 32 hours. I took all sorts of medication to evict the cute little girl. We are all so excited and happy. I can't wait to travel to Vancouver, Canada, to visit this new one and the other grandkids growing up so fast.
